Why I love what I do

Family, school and sports have always been an important part of my life.  I played various sports starting in kindergarten, but my first love was always volleyball.  I continued that love at Lewis University (Go Lady Flyers!), where I also studied to be a chemistry teacher.  After graduating, I taught chemistry and coached volleyball; all while finishing my master's degree.

Deb's Embroidery was established in 2001, when my first child was born.  In search of a hobby, I took up sewing.  Sewing lead to embroidery, and soon I was taking requests from family and friends.  I took my first spirit wear order from Downers Grove North Cross Country in 2002.  It has since spread to numerous schools, businesses, organizations and, of course, personal orders.

As a former athlete, I believe wearing your school's colors and apparel not only shows your support, it makes you more visible, which can add a psychological edge to your team!  Few things are as intimidating as walking into a gym full of your opponents fans fully decked out!

Having my three kids in school full time has allowed my business to grow.  In addition to individuals orders,  I have partnered with various companies as their embroidery contractor.  I am also the uniform and spirit wear provider for several schools in the area including: St. Joan of Arc, Elmwood Elementary, Saints Peter & Paul, and Lincoln Junior High Schools.

I take pride in my work and make sure my customers are happy with their product.  I enjoy creating new, unique designs and making one of a kind apparel that kids and adults are proud to wear!

I look forward to hearing from you soon!
